TKE Educational Foundation

TKE EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION
The mission of the TKE Educational Foundation is to strengthen our brotherhood in Tau Kappa Epsilon by providing scholarships and student assistance, developing leadership skills, enhancing personal and social values, increasing academic performance, and to provide an opportunity for contributors to promote TKE within Internal Revenue Service guidelines.

The TKE Educational Foundation was organized as a mechanism to help attain the possibilities envisioned by our Founders. Throughout its history, the Foundation has accepted the charge to develop and execute programs and services for our undergraduate members and alumni alike, which aim to emphasize the ideals of Tau Kappa Epsilon. As TKE embarks on the road to its next 100th anniversary, the Foundation seeks the re-dedication of all members, past and present, to embrace the principles of our Fraternity for Life.

The TKE Educational Foundation is governed by a volunteer alumni Board of Directors. The Board sets policy and provides overall direction for Foundation activities. Foundation objectives are managed and executed by the Vice President of Development under the supervision of the Executive Vice President of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity.

Services of the TKE Educational Foundation

CERTIFIED FRATERNITY CONSULTANT (CFC)
Unique to TKE, this program provides recognition to a select group of alumni who attain the highest level of achievement in the Fraternity. The CFC designation signifies excellence in fraternity management and operations, and the highest quality of performance. The program involves a formal testing procedure.

THE VISA CARD PROGRAMS
Alumni and undergraduate Tekes can now carry the First USA TKE Visa card. For each purchase made, First USA makes a contribution back to the Foundation for program support, at no cost to the cardholder. The TKE Visa Card offers low APR and NO annual fee features, and has a distinctive TKE look. Classic, Gold and prestigious Platinum cards are available for qualified members.

TKE CALLING CARD
The TKE Calling Card is designated exclusively for TKE members through National Collegiate Services. A percentage of the billed cost volume of calls will be provided to chapters (10%) and the Foundation (4%) to fund educational activities, at no cost to the cardholders. Discounts of up to 50% are offered over traditional calling card costs and options are provided for individual or parent billings.

PERSONALIZED TKE CHECKS
Tekes can now show Fraternity pride by securing personalized checking account checks with the TKE Coat of Arms and Tau Kappa Epsilon imprinted along with their name and address information. CHECK SMART makes this offer available, and for each order, provides a contribution to the TKE Educational Foundation for educational purposes.

PERSONAL 800 NUMBER TELE-SERVICE
Offers the convenience of having a personal 800 telephone card directed to an existing homebase number, with no installation charges or monthly fees. This is an inexpensive way for Tekes to provide a convenient way for family and friends to keep in touch and offers an added security for emergency situations. The Foundation receives a royalty from American Telecommunications Services, at no cost to the 800 cardholder.

SHORT-TERM MAJOR MEDICAL PLAN
Tekes, their spouses and dependent children have the availability of short-term major medical protection. The low cost plan is designed to provide temporary coverage for hospitalization, surgery, and outpatient treatment. The plan offers coverage for Tekes who may have lost coverage on a parent's policy prior to being covered by a new employer's plan or for Tekes who need coverage during a transition period between jobs.

TKE Leadership Academy

Since its inception in 1990, the TKE Leadership Academy has challenged Tekes to realize their potential and has developed leaders toward a higher standard of excellence for TKE chapters.

The Academy focuses on preparing attendees to take what they have learned and apply it to their own lives and their TKE chapter, helping them become a catalyst for positive change. Professional and trained TKE facilitators provide an intensive approach to organizational management, group dynamics, leadership quality, interpersonal relationships, and self development.
